Ashwagandha revisited

Back when we were still Natural Alternatives, we sent out e-mails with “herb of the week” titles. One of my favorites was Ashwagandha. It still is, so I wanted to revisit it, and explain why Nature’s Sunshine’s Ashwagandha blend is the best you’ll find.

Ashwagandha is one of my favorite products. I didn’t notice much improvement when I first took it. It wasn’t until I stopped that I realized I was sleeping better and had a lot more energy. I was also coping with stressful situations much better, and not being bothered by my brain refusing to turn off at night. Some people think I take “a lot” of products, and maybe I do. But when I hear the things other people complain about, I realize how worth it it is. I don’t have the problems I hear others complain about all the time, like forgetting what I walked into a room for, catching everything that goes around, and as I mentioned, I sleep well and have a lot of energy!

So I’ll tell you about Ashwagandha herbal blend from Nature’s Sunshine. (tl,dr: it helps your mind and body deal with stress)

Please know that all of the information here is for educational purposes only, and not intended to treat, cure, diagnose, etc any disease or medical condition.

Ashwagandha is one of the most valuable herbs in Ayurvedic medicine, the traditional medicine of India, practiced for over 6,000 years.
It is prized for its ability to combat stress, enhance vitality and energy, increase muscle strength and endurance, fortify the immune system, and promote longevity.
Many modern studies have and continue to be done on ashwagandha, and verify these uses.

Now, I’ll do a quick break down of the OTHER ingredients in the Ashwagandha blend:
1) Bacopa Leaf extract: Used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine to improve memory and mental clarity, and clinical studies have confirmed that bacopa can improve memory and cognitive function, even in those with age-associated memory impairments! Studies have also demonstrated that it helps with anxiety and mood, both in animals and human trials.

2) Schisandra fruit: This fruit has been shown to increase vitality and improve physical endurance and mental performance, and studies have demonstrated it helps increase alertness, concentration, learning ability, and memory in adults.

3) Rhodiola Root extract: Human clinical trials have demonstrated beneficial effects on mild to moderate depression, fatigue, anxiety, and cognitive function.

Black pepper is also added to improve the body’s ability to absorb the other herbs.

“It utilizes natural, adaptogenic, plant-based ingredients that are scientifically shown to help improve the central nervous system, which is constantly impacted by emotional and environmental stressors. Adaptogens and their benefits are linked to the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. Together these three help the body react to repeated stress and support a healthy mind-body connection.”
